RSVP:  Lead with Experience
Our Homepage

Welcome to the  homepage for Central Kentucky Senior Corps / RSVP!  We hope you find our website useful in your pursuit of volunteer opportunities.  We encourage you to take a few minutes and look around.

First, a little about our program.

Located at 1111 N. Dixie Ave., Suite 5, in Elizabethtown, RSVP is a non-profit volunteer program that matches people 55 and older with non-profit agencies where they can put their skills and experience to use to help others.

Each year, RSVP programs expand the capacity of more than 61,000 local organizations nationwide to deliver essential services. Last year(2010) RSVP programs across the nation contributed 62 million hours of service valued at 1.2 billion dollars.

The difference you are making can be seen right here in the local area as well. If you are looking to expand your life long learning why not give us a try.

If you are a current RSVP volunteer, you might discover other opportunities within these webpages.  If you are thinking about volunteering with RSVP, these pages will provide an overview of our program.

So go ahead and browse.  We're proud of our program and our volunteers.  And maybe you can join us!

Why Volunteer With RSVP?

The RSVP program is a part of the National Senior Service Corps of the Corporation for Community and National Service and is a network of programs designed to help adults aged 55 and older find volunteer opportunities.
The sigficant number of volunteer hours our community volunteers give is recorded locally and then passed on to the national corporation to identify that we have local volunteers who are contributing in to their community in major ways.Join RSVP letting others know what Hardin and Nelson County volunteers are doing for thier community.

So why should you register to be a RSVP volunteer?

Help us be a part of national movement.

Who Can Be An RSVP Volunteer?

You have to be 55 or older and have time to give.

That's it.

No experience is necessary.

Our volunteers are people who want to help others.  Of course, if you do have experience in a specific area, RSVP can match you with a volunteer position that uses your special skills.

RSVP volunteers can work as few or as many hours as they want.  Some RSVP volunteers work a few hours a month; some work a few hours each week.

As a registered RSVP volunteer, you can receive mileage reimbursement and free supplemental insurance. But the best thing you will receive is the satisfaction of knowing you're helping others and making your community better.
